Switching from xorg to xvesa
  • eggberteggbert September 2010
I have made a customized slitaz build from the slitaz3 cooking iso, which I would like to work on as many computers as possible. I seem to be having a lot of problems with video, i.e. only getting as far as the login screen, and it seems from the xorg/xvesa guide that it would be best to use xvesa. The guide suggests using the xvesa iso, the problem is I don't want to have to go back and redo the whole thing from scratch, so is there any way of changing to xvesa in my build? Is it as simple as just removing the xorg meta package?

Maybe you can use http://pizza.slitaz.org/ to build a version with the packages you want/need for your xvesa version.

    Hi,

You can use the xvesa flavor:

    http://mirror.slitaz.org/iso/3.0/flavors/slitaz-3.0-xvesa.iso

If you want to rebuild it, use tazlito:

    # tazlito get-flavor slitaz-3.0-xvesa

    See http://www.slitaz.org/en/doc/handbook/gen-livecd.html
