Execute Terminal Command after Startup
  • Right after the system logs in I need a terminal command to automatically execute. I've played around with various things, but nothing has worked. Anybody know how to do this?

    Sergiy, did you play with
SliTaz Control Box (comp icon close to clocks in panel) —> Initialization tab —> Add local commands: /etc/init.d/local.sh button
  • Yep,
I tried to start the terminal from this file, but nothing came up.

I ultimately need to run x11vnc on start up, so I threw that in there, and x11vnc ran during boot, but too soon. Running x11vnc normally will keep the terminal open and keep you posted on remote connections, and once the terminal is closed you can no longer remotely connect to the computer. Running x11vnc from the file you suggested runs the program from the boot terminal, but once booting is complete, you can't actually connect to the computer.

I need the terminal to pop up and execute x11vnc once the desktop is already there.

    Got it!
The key was to add x11vnc to Start>Preferences>Auto Started Applications

This runs the script after openbox starts.

    Thanks for your time Lexeii.

    Thank you too!

И тебе спасибо за описание решения, может, когда-нибудь пригодится.
