[SOLVED] How to install XMMS ? -> install audacious
  • openpatopenpat March 2010
Been using and appreciating XMMS for years. This package have disappeared from most distros today but packages can still be found here and there, for Ubuntu for example. Is there such a package for SliTaz or a method to install it (easily...) ?

    hi
I never did it with XMMS, but you could use 'tazpkg convert alien-package' (for (.deb)(.rpm) (.tgz) (.pkg.tar.gz)-packages). But you will need to install all of the dependencies, too.
I like the enna mediacenter, too, so you could try that.

@nik : Enna is a nice product, thanks for the advice !
audacious is a B solution, not xmms...

It's a fork of XMMS, it's the same program. It's a XMMS-like fork of BMP, which itself is a fork on XMMS.
It's oh so close to XMMS. It's like asking for Windows' Notepad and getting Leafpad.
What functionality does XMMS have that Audacious doesn't? Maybe there's a plugin for it.
