[SOLVED] WIFI - Pb with update from New Cooking 20091104

    First, Slitaz is a great distro for a poor laptop configuration !
    I've been using as my principal distribution the 20091104 cooking without any problem on an old DELL P3 with 256 Mb. It's fluid, with all the software I need (except Scribus that won't work ...)
    My problem is that when I apply an update from tazpkg gui, wifi won't work anymore... I've reinstalled my good old 20091104, so that I "resolved" my connexion problem, but I'm not really satisfied :)
    Did someone have the same problem ? How can it be solved ?

    Do you use a static-ip? or Do you have unprotected wireless? If not, read http://doc.slitaz.org/en:guides:wifi-easy and report as per the troubleshoot section.

    I use a wep protected network with DHCP.

    Do you use ndiswrapper , if not what open source module for your wireless adapter ?

    Wireless with ndiswrapper on two of my computers is broken on the two cooking versions after 20091104

    I verified kernel configs are identical on broken releases.

    I believe it has to do with the kernel compile configuration changes after cooking-20091104.

    The developers say no kernel changes from Dec.2009 until slitaz-3.0 is released.

    @mojo : ndiswrapper bug was corrected with depmod (http://hg.slitaz.org/wok/rev/f37d43db2e83). Can you update your system and try again?

    I use ndiswrapper with netmw121.inf driver. I use dhclient

    Could you please tell me how to "save" my today config before updating ? If I lose wifi again it will be a problem, as my old Dell lattitude has no ethernet plug...

    just installed last cooking version :

    Wifi OK with ndiswrapper, but I can't "save" my config so that, at each reboot I have to modprobe ndiswrapper, iwconfig... as root in terminal.
    Solved my xorg 800x600 just by adding my horiz and vert resolution

    Last problem (for the moment) is that upgrade never seems to end, looks as if it makes a loop... had to break.
    The installation of scribus is at least OK

    I'm happy with my new Slitaz ;)
