Citadel groupware server can't start in SliTaz cooking
  • avamkavamk October 2010
    Hello,
After the help this forum has given me (thanks!!), I have finally compiled and installed Citadel groupware server in latest SliTaz cooking.
    However:

    1) The server can be accessed via a web interface called WebCit. But when I tried to start the web interface server (its in /usr/local/webcit/), it fails with a segmentation fault. According to the Citadel help documents, this might happen if WebCit tries to bind to a port that is already in use, such as port 80 by lighttpd. I checked task manager, and /etc/rcS.conf, and lighttpd is NOT running, and it doesn't start on boot. I tried to bind WebCit to other ports, such as 2000, but it still fails. Any ideas why?

    2) I would like my citadel server (binary is /usr/local/citadel/citserver), and WebCit web interface (binary is /usr/local/webcit/webcit) to launch during boot. How do I add them to the startup files? I tried to add them to local.sh, but they don't show up in top or task manager, looks like they are not running?

    Thanks!

I've never used Citadel but, for #2, you could duplicate one of the services in /etc/init.d/ such as slim and modify it accordingly. You can then add it to /etc/rcS.conf (Menu > System Tools > Control Box > Initialization > Run Daemons). It may provide this for you, either in /etc/init.d/ or it's own files.

    HIH.
