I have a ASUS RADEON HD 4350 Silent PCIE HDMI 1GB Graphics Card. I have downloaded a LINUX driver from the official web site. ati-driver-installer-10-9-x86.x86_64.run
Can anyone help with installing the driver please.

    Hi @lugworm --

Please see the documentation for configuring XOrg and installation of the ATI driver. It's in the repos for you.

Thanks seawolf but when I followed the link and then typed in the code. Most of it was already there. And when I changed the xorg.conf file it dropped me into the terminal on reset.

If you're sure you've read the general stuff at that page as well as the ATI stuff, could you copy use PasteBin or similar to show the log file at: /var/log/Xorg.0.log.old which should show the errors (lines marked (EE) toward the file tail). Hopefully someone will know what's going wrong!

    Thanks!

The hole file is too big to list here. How can I list it ?
  • mojomojo September 2010
    Paste it there: http://paste.ubuntu.com/
Copy and post the url here like this: http://paste.ubuntu.com/498805/
  • lugwormlugworm September 2010
Ok thanks, I have pasted the file.

No one can find the paste if you don't post it's URL address.

After you click the Paste! button copy it's web address from your browsers address bar here.

It will be http://paste.ubuntu.com/ with a number on the end.

As an example here is the address to my xorg.0.log

    http://paste.ubuntu.com/499332/
