The binaries may not necessarily be compiled to run correctly on SliTaz. I haven't had many problems though. It's much better to compile / try to make a Slitaz package from source :)
.deb should be convert by run command "tazpkg convert (.deb filename.)" but what i'am try to install .deb never success even one. as seafolf comment, better select the program from Slitaz source.
