Thanks, yes been through all the procedures in the guides, but I have kind of fixed it. All I wanted was rid of the tiny screen and 800x600 display. I'm still running the Vesa Driver but managed to increase the resolution by adding some HorizSync and VertRefresh Lines to my xorg.conf:
paul@slitaz:~$ xrandr Screen 0: minimum 512 x 350, current 1024 x 768, maximum 1024 x 768 default connected 1024x768+0+0 0mm x 0mm 1024x768 85.0* 800x600 86.0 640x480 86.0 640x350 86.0 512x384 0.0
When I add in the Radion driver slim fails to stat (but might be because no valid screens can be found). I'll take a look further at the error log later, but as I say I only wanted full use of the screen.
Edit /etc/X11/xorg.conf as root In device section I add # in front of line Driver vesa Underneath add line: Driver mach64 Save and verify changes CtrlAltBackspace to kill Xserver Login as root pw root Type: slim Enter
Thanks! That worked a treat. On a roll now, even got my webcam working too. Like bringing old hardware back into play.
Not thanks to SlitaZ now have a very usuable Compaq Armada with 256MB RAM and can even use Firefox (once adblock and flashblock extensions are installed)
