I use a Pantech UM175 usb modem to connect to my mobile broadband provider and I am having problems with it in Slitaz. I am using Slitaz 2.0. When I plug the modem into a port on other distros, the device /dev/ttyACM0 is created. I can then set up a ppp connection using that device and connect. This doesn't happen in Slitaz. When I plug it in while booted into Slitaz, I get the following msg. in the error logs.
user.err kernel: hub 2-0:1.0: unable to enumerate USB device on port 2 user.info kernel: usb 6-2: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 2 user.info kernel: usb 6-2: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
I installed the usbutils package (I wondered where the lsusb command was) and here is the output from lsusb and tazhw detect-usb...

but Siltaz still could not work with it. Still no /dev/ttyACM0. I then did a Google Linux search on "ttyACM0" and found that the module cdc_acm has to be loaded. So, it appears that the problem is that SliTaz does not realize that device needs the cdc_acm module. After I modprobe that module, the /dev/ttyACM0 device is created and things start working.
Where is the proper place in the SliTaz boot scripts to load the cdc_acm driver?
I checked out the 3G packages you referenced and the usb_modeswitch doesn't work with my modem. I checked the web site for that app. and my modem isn't listed. The other two apps. are just ppp dial-up apps I believe. I use scripts written by Sierra Wireless for cdma devices. I just key in "pppd call cdma" and I am connected.
