How to install slitaz to loopfile
  • zealkaiserzealkaiser January 2011
On slitaz documentation there is a page

    http://doc.slitaz.org/en:guides:uncommoninst

which says there is a way to install slitaz in a loopfile and then booting it.

But I couldn't figure out how to do so. Can anyone help me out.

Also it says to get a preinit iso (slitaz-preinit.iso) file, where can we get it.

I am completely a new to slitaz

The idea : you don't need a special partition for SliTaz. Just create a big file in an existing partition (Windows, MacOS, Ubuntu...) and use it as SliTaz root filesystem.

This guide is not complleted yet. There are still many TODO.
You can build slitaz-preinit.iso with :
    # tazlito get-flavor preinit
    # tazlito gen-distro
Note any flavor built since 2011 could be used as slitaz-preinit.iso replacement for loop install or (but with memory waste) for subdirectory install.
