After much trial & error, I've got what I think is a basic SliTaz distro installed on a USB stick - trouble is, when attempting to boot from the stick, all I get is the following message: SYSLINK 3.63 Debian - 2008-07-15 CBIOS... boot:
Typing ANYTHING in here results in the message: Could not find kernal image
I tried to install SliTaz from startup USB. It was created with tazusb.exe. But I got the following result:
Loading /boot/bzImage................... Loading /boot/rootfs.gz........................ Decompressing Linux .......... ..........(many messages) Trying to unpack rootfs image as initramfs Switched to NOHz mode on CPU #0 .............(pause about 2-3 min) ..........(many messages) [] kernel_thread_helper+0x7/0x10
after that the system hangs up and only RESET button is helpful
For me, SliTaz cooking (20101104) works great in a 4gb usb stick! (512MB, Athlon 1.6GHz, desktop). I have full persistence (ext3 format) and so on... All of this created with Tazusb tool in a few seconds...
