Duplicate entries automatically added to rcS.conf LOAD_MODULES
  • ms3811ms3811 June 2010
    looks like this:

    LOAD_MODULES=" snd_hda_intel yenta_socket tg3 intel-agp drm wl ssb intel_agp wl,"

    I edit and remove everything after "ssb", save and close. Next time the box is restarted, it goes back to the way it is above. And "tazhw detect-pci" always says "Missing Module: wl," (obviously). Another interesting thing to note is with the 'intel_agp' module, the entry automatically added always uses an underscore, whereas the actual module uses a hyphen.

    This is neither critical nor does it appear to affect the system in any way. Just curious as to why its happening.

    google search "ssb broadcom-wl"
    From the man page for modprobe:
    Description
    modprobe intelligently adds or removes a module from the Linux kernel: note that for convenience, there is no difference between _ and - in module names.
