I did the # rm /dev/dri # mkdir /dev/dri/ and only root had read+write permissions

well that sounds like it would work but security goes out the window. there has to be a better way.

Slitaz and older newbees
I have the same laptop t23, slitaz 3.0 work great on it with some tweaking. I have video with dri enabled and sound out of the box. running lxde with 48mb ram on startup. gotta love it.
