it depends on how you define "normal". to me, normal install is when the files are uncompressed and fully laid out on the disk. copying all that into memory at boot time would make no sense. it would be better to keep the files compressed…

tazusb - does not work as documentation states
file ownership does not work on fat32 but writefs still work. if you see older versions of rootfs.gz then it works. also, check the boot parameters if "home" is set differently and follow that path.

did you put the actual UUID value of the partition and not "UUID" text? you can see the UUID values by issuing "blkid" command at the console.

it looks like a video issue. does the monitor leds blink? try pressing "ctrl, alt, +" or "ctrl, alt, backspace". try also the xvesa version of the iso.

reading around, win7 does not use boot.ini at all but you can still add grub to win7 boot menu by using "bcdedit.exe". if slitaz files are indeed in sda3, then your menu.lst seems okay.

frugal install anything from any OS: 3 basic steps. 1. install bootmanager 2. copy contents of bootable iso to disk 3. re-configure bootmanager to add the new OS.
