I converted a deb to tazpkg because I had modem instructions that the modem might need dkms but the slitaz modem package and slitaz system seemed to be missing it, as far as I recall.

It did not help me, partly because slitaz compiling has had a series of problems including bad linux-source and wrong instructions and nobody on the forum seemed interested in the diagnostic tool's report of a kernel problem.

You can google for a dkms deb package to download and convert to tazpkg.

Virtualbox installed something named dkms in an /opt/~ folder.
