Request a new Flavor
  • moulefritemoulefrite April 2010
    Hi

    As i said in another topic, it would be cool to have
    a kind of 2 level Slitaz Iso .

    In the ISo :

    A Live Slitaz + (all Slitaz installed folder - boot folder) + Tazpkg Links.

    We could have in the rootfs.gz things all the light but intensivly used stuff
    (WebBrowser,flash?,players..)
    And in the folders, things like OpenOffice or wine,Gimp,Enna,virtualBox,Avidemux ...

    It should be a real out-of-the-box solution for those who want to convice
    Windows users

    We can even make a vote to decide which applications to choose but everthing
    must be coherent and functionnal and with nice icons ...

    Hi,

    Rohit had made something like that (suggestedapplications-1.0).
    You can also add a tazpkg link in your desktop by adding .desktop files in /usr/share/applications. An exemple of desktop file to install xarchive :

    [Desktop Entry]
    Version=1.0
    Encoding=UTF-8

    Name=XArchive Manager
    Comment=Create, modify and browse an archive
    GenericName=Archive Manager

    Categories=Gtk;Utility;
    Exec=subox 'tazpkg get-install xarchive'
    Icon=tazpkg
    Terminal=false
    Type=Application

    I think we can make a tool to add pre-installed applications to live or to select some links to add. There's several way to do that, and it will take some time. Maybe for 4.0 ?

    Hi everybody

    I want to put this topic forward again.

    I think it would be a VERY good idea to a have a kind of FULL flavor
    with ALL the 3.0 packages in a ISO

    BUT , as I recommend before , it will be the best to have, on the LIVE CD,
    a core launched in RAM at boot and the other stuff on the CD . Everthing
    linked with all

    # Tazpkg link --all the applications-- /media/cdrom

    This way, we have a traditionnal LiveCD BUT the chance to access all the
    available packages without downloading or further installing.

    It would be a wonderfull thing if you want slitaz users to test further
    more and give some instructive feed-back and plebiscite the best softwares

    On the other hand, the 670 MB remaining on the CD won't be wasted anymore.

    Is any Slitaz Colonel can make that flavor ?

    THANKS
