AbiWord not working

    Sup guys,
    just instaled the new version on my laptop. Everything is going decently smoothly, Though there are two problems.

    1. AbiWord after installation (of all components i.e additional packages) terminates immediately after launching. I checked the error: it says " Pango-Warning Shaping** Shaping faliure expect ugly output. shape-engine='basic engineFC', font ='dejavu sans11', text=''
    2. Full screen flash videos have definate framing in them.

    I had exactly the same problem. Amazingly it came good when I installed ntop!!
    I think ntop may have a dependancy that Abiword needs.
    Try it and let us know if it works for you.

    I have tested this issue. Davesurrey is right: you don't need to install all ntop but only a subset of its dependencies. I have checked that glibc-locale is sufficient. Maybe a smaller subset is possible as well, you can try it if you want to play around and help to find the best fix to the receipt of Abiword.
