I have been unable to get the microphone to function on a EeePc 700 machine running Slitaz 3.0. I have no problem with speaker output either from the built in speakers or via the headphone jack. However I am unable to get either the built-in microphone or an external microphone in the line in jack to work. I have run soundconf which correctly identifies the sound card but the microphone simply doesn't work.

I have set the gain level to max and select both i-sound and e-sound without success. I have also tried using mhWaveEdit but all that happen is the app closes when I select Record sound.

Could anyone advise how I can get either microphone working as I would like to use the machine for Skype calls.
