then i try emacs in a terminal and nothing come up:
    root@BlackMamba:/home/tux#emacs
    bash: emacs: command not found

    What do i miss here?

    root@slitaz: which emacs

    Should output:
    /usr/bin/emacs
This command will output the path to every file installed by emacs.tazpkg
    tazpkg list-files emacs

See if the files are installed.

May be problem with bash shell.
I prefer to use the default shell which symlinks /bin/sh to /bin/busybox.
