Kernel panic after "tazusb writefs none" generated filesystem
  • krusader23krusader23 August 2010
Hi, I'm using the 20100314 cooking version and I get the kernel panic after I write my filesystem to the USB drive.
    Here is the log:
    # Generating a liveUSB
        # using the cooking 20100314 version
        boot: slitaz vga=791
        fdisk -l

        tazusb gen-liveusb /dev/sdb1
cp: cannot stat /media/cdrom/boot/isolinux/*.inc': No such file or directory
            # I think that despite the error, the liveUSB was created successfully
        reboot
        # eject cdrom
        # the system booted correctly, no errors
        # preserving the system changes
        tazusb writefs none

    Try
    boot: slitaz previous
    instead of
    boot: previous
I get this error twice, it's about 1 of 100 writefs.

You can also manually rename previous.gz to rootfs.gz from other OS or LiveCD/LiveUSB.

Kernel panic was because of a corrupted flash drive. Maybe it's side had something to do with it.(256 MB)
Sorry for digging this up. I'm cleaning up my bookmarks folders.
