Hi, I downloaded xkill and can access xkill from the terminal. I want to have xkill icon on my panel like puppy linux. so i just click on it and click the application and it kills the app.
Why is it that when you download some applications it does not appear in the application menu( internet, prefences etc). How can i edit it to appear there. i can only run the application from the run command. I am looking for file that edits the menu arrangement and add stuff to it.
I am trying to configure 2 finger scrolling using the synaptic driver. But got lost. i have downloaded the Xorg-xf86-(synaptic driver). I can not find the Xorg file in /etc/X11.
Thanks for your help. I have been battling with this for quite some hours and hopefully someone can help me out.
Your first point has a simple solution. Some console-based apps will work without a graphical interface, and are in fact designed so. They won't need an item in the menu when they are just concerned with working in text-mode. When some graphical apps don't display an icon, this could be to some compilation/packaging options or that the author doesn't think it needs one (you can just run xkill like you've been doing) but this can easily be remedied by creating a ".desktop" file in the /usr/share/applications directory. There isn't a menu editor per-say as all of the items in the applications directory contain information as to their placement and are all loaded.
If you'd like an icon for XKill, duplicate one of the existing ones and rename its filename (i.e. 'cp xterm.desktop xkill.desktop') before modifying the contents accordingly. You can then add it to the panel by right-clicking it and selecting "Add To Panel".
You may wish to make the command: xterm -title "Kill An Application" -e xkill to give a little feedback, and so you can press Alt+F4 to quit XKill rather than having to click the right-mouse button while panicking one is about to kill the desktop!

The second point, I'll have to leave with someone else as I don't have scrolling on my touchpad at all!
sorry seawolf, i forgot to thank you. I followed your steps and added xkill. and it worked, i also imported my own icon too. Great tool for killing programs that are wasting time to load.
Now just to get scrolling to work on my touch pad before i can be able to use slitaz.
thanks Gokhlayeh, i am using cooking version but i am not going try anything new. like upgrades and others until i am able to configure the backup using grysnc. I have made quite some changes, to panels. editing configs, modules etc. And if it gets screwed up, which happened earlier then I am certain slitaz will become my recovery operating system for my windows file. Which i dont want.
