Install hangs

    I have tried to install 3.0 stable with the LiveCD but it hangs when 'detecting PCI devices Kernel modules'. I also tried web install but same problem. I hope someone can help me.

    Can you boot into the desktop with the livecd ok ?
    Does hang happen after the install has completed and your attempting to boot into the install the first time ?
    What type of install, full or live ?
    Describe your hardware.

    I cannot boot into the desktop with the livecd and the install has not completed.
    I have a Toshiba Satellite SA30 with Intel Mobile P4 2.4 processor

    If you have a wifi card, please wait 2 mn at least, as the card cannot initialize without firmware.

    I waited 5 min, nothing. Install without wifi card, nothing. Downloaded iso again and burned a new cd, didn't help either. I got a little angry so with the next install right after I saw the 'detecting PCI devices Kernel modules' message again I started banging on the enter key. Somehow it helped a little, it got me further, even to the point I got to choose a language. But in the end I got a very strange, colorfull, frozen screen, so still nothing.

    Ok, try to boot with the apci=off option.
