no windows boot entry in grub

    I have recently installed the stable 3.0 on hdd . Grub is the boot nloader but I found no option in grub to boot win2k sp4which was running quite well on other partition.
    Grub should automatically detect it . now how to add it again in bootlist?

    As root user, edit the /boot/grub/menu.lst file. This is perhaps easier in a Terminal as you can:
    su
    nano /boot/grub/menu.lst

    and add the following entry, assuming Windows is the first partition (the 2nd zero) on the first hard disk (the 1st zero) :-

    title     Windows 2000 
    rootnoverify (hd0,0)
    chainloader +1
    makeactive
