Menu/System tools/wireless networks connections
Drivers tab/Tools:/click Install Windows driver button
File(.inf) click folder button on right,navigate to neti2220.inf in WinXP driver folder
Click the ->Install button should see neti2220 driver installed above,click exit
Click the Networks tab to see wireless accesspoints
Click refresh button if you don't see yours
Double click to connect to access point

If this doesn't work post as root

The notebooks wired adapter(eth0) has i.p. address 172.20.4.138 is it connected to the wireless router ?
Your wireless adapter(wlan0) is installed but it has no inet addr (i.p. address).
Make sure the wireless router is broadcasting it's name (essid) and security(wpa/wep) is off.
If the radio is working on the wireless adapter in your laptop and the wireless router is broadcasting it's essid you should see it's name(essid) on Menu/System tools/wireless networks connections/networks tab
Double click the name and your laptop wireless should associate(connect) to the wireless routers radio and request then receive an i.p. address on your LAN

When you run

ifconfig wlan0

you would see an inet addr line with the i.p. address.
If the wireless routers WAN side is connected to a DSL or cable modem connected to the internet you'll have internet access.

If you have trouble give me the output from:

iwlist wlan0 scanning

and

iwconfig wlan0

Mojo, we have a problem,

the wifi works flawlessly in other places; however, I just upgraded my router and for security reasons, I can't connect to my own home system. It's now showing the connections, but when I double click it, the access key window won't show...what am I doing wrong?

I use WPA but have to turn on ESSID broadcast or I can't connect.
Menu/System tools/wireless networks connections/Configuration tab
Fill the info in under Basic
I use any from the dropdown menu to the right of Key:
Click the ->Start connection button
If it works go to the Favorites tab, click +Add network button
Put same info in there,click Add to list button
You should be able to connect by dbl clicking the connection on the list without retyping the credentials next time

what?! ESSID broadcast has to be turned on? where is that in the wireless networks?

And bad news, I did a reinstall, because I thought that is made a mistake in the installation...I guess it's back to square one!

Install the iptables package. It's fine on mine. Might be able to leave any config of it empty.
