Resolution on Intel graphic.
  • michelmichel April 2010
Hello , I'm really new ti slitaz. Ive installed it on an easygate which is a kind of nettop with a 512 MB SSD. slitaz's perfect and fits on 250 MB with chrome installed.
    http://wiki.easyneuf.org/index.php/Description_physique_des_Gate

the graphic card is an intel 855GM
However I could get a great resolution on my 19inches LCD ( with wich I made the install) but when i moved to a 17 inches CRT I can't go to anything than 640 * 480

How to tell Xorg ? I tried to add mode to xorg.conf but it's still telling the mode is not supported .

Shall I use 915 resolution ? is this problem specific to slitaz ? it seems to me it's a basic linux problem in fact

Try running tazx to reconfigure X. What has probably happened is there isn't a HorizSync or refresh entry in the Monitor section of etc/X11/xorg.conf. They are required by your crt.
If tazx doesn't work see if you can get the specs for your crt monitor and make the entries in xorg.conf manually.

also don't forget to add the
Load "intel_agp" to the "Modules" section. that was a problem for me.
