I have a Rosewill RNX-G300LX wireless card, I tried to install the windows driver and the linux driver through the wireless manager to no avail. Can someone point me in the right direction.
Bump....Anyone? I was going to try to reinstall SliTaz and see if I have an easier time installing it. The strange thing is the driver disk comes with the linux driver. I really enjoy SliTaz, but I need to get this card working, I have 2 more PIII 500 Mhz boxes with 384 MB of RAM I want to install SliTaz on and they will all use this card.
Open Xterm terminal, type lspci then enter. From the long list of hardware the computer generates look for any lines containing the word wireless and post the ENTIRE line.
00:0d.0 Network controller: RaLink RT2561/RT61 802.11g PCI Install linux-wireless for your version of SliTaz it has the rt61pci module.
Download firmware RT2501PCI/mPCI/CB(RT61:RT2561/RT2561S/RT2661) from http://www.ralinktech.com/support.php?s=2 Extract 2009_0123_RT61_Linux_STA_v1.1.2.3.tar.bz2 to 2009_0123_RT61_Linux_STA_v1.1.2.3
Copy the following 3 bin files which are in the Module subfolder to /lib/firmware rt2561.bin , rt2561s.bin , rt2661.bin
Xterm type subox wifibox enter
Drivers tab,Module:rt61pci,click Load button Lsmod button verify rt61pci module is loaded Ignore firmware: Install, you did it above, You have to have a working internet connection to use it,but the download link to the rt61pci firmware in the script is dead.List files button should show the 3 firmware bin files you installed.Go to the Networks tab click refresh button to see accesspoints and connect.
Accesspoints not listed then try
Xterm type ifconfig see if your wireless adapter is listed.
