Network on Asus r2h
  • bluefadebluefade October 2010
    Hi,
I've finally managed to install a linux distro, on it. But i can't get the wired network to work.
It uses a RTL8101E PCI Express (r8169) - i got this info from another site.
    Can someone help me??

    Thank you,
    Bruno

Hi bluefade. I'm kinda new here too, but have you tried going to menu > System Tools > Configure Networking? There you'll find options for your setup, regardless if they are wired or wireless. Hope this helps!

    Hi,
i've done that. The thing is that i'm able to see eth0, but i can't get it to work on dhcp.

    try
    cat /proc/net/dev | grep eth
too and see if any eth* is there

    This could be a problem:
    eth1 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr F5:F5:F5:F5:F5:F5
    The network settings:
    root@slitaz: nano /etc/network.conf

    INTERFACE="eth1"
    or
    menu/system tools/Netbox Configure networking/DHCP tab/Interface: eth1
