Well, i would, but im more of a fixer than a 'use this instead". I got it to work, but i dont remember what i did. I think i updated the tazx packages for the new drivers, and i got a gui up, with no wallpaper, or desktop. the menu does work, however.
now, the wireless wont work. i probed for the wireless driver, found it, but dont know what to do from there.
I was looking for a message that it leaves you with; I assume it was a 'no screens found' proceeded by some complaints. The first port of call would then be to use a generic driver but we would see. The XVesa version uses a different graphical system and is just a quicker way to configuring other drivers via d/l everything through a command line.
I take it you ran 'startx' ? I think you'll need to start Openbox (the desktop/window manager) atop of X to get everything:
startx & openbox-session
Though you may be able to right-click on the greyish 'desktop' and choose Terminal under the Favourites menu, to launch Openbox from there.
