Hello everyone, I've a new laptop HP ProBook 4310s and I've burned a CD with the Live CD Stable version of SliTaz. I've followed all the steps from the instructions of the Handbook , but it doesn't load. Then I went to the BIOS set-up to change the boot sequence, but it was OK. So, now I've tried with a Live CD of CrunchBang Linux and it loads automatically. SliTaz Live CD Stable version is not working for me. Do you have some idea about why it can happens? Is it possible that the CD is not properly burned? I really like SliTaz and I want to try it.
Do you see text scroll by in the early boot and then it halts with text still on the screen, maybe an error message or kernel panic ? or Do you see alot of text and then it boot's to a blank screen ? Then try ctrl+alt + [+ or -] to attempt a resolution the screen supports. See here: http://doc.slitaz.org/en:guides:xorg-xvesa Next try to edit /etc/X11/xorg.conf and start slim to get video running.
@Bastiano - Additional to mojo's advice: if you do not see the boot-splash graphics or it cannot find files, it is likely a corrupt download/burn. It could also be so depending on any error messages but you may have too little RAM or a similar problem.
When I switch on the laptop with the CD inside, appears a black screen with the logo of HP and down the screen it says "Press Esc for boot options" while I hear the CD running, but the key Esc does nothing. I've been waiting for 10 minutes, I've pressed the Esc key many times, but nothing happens. Maybe I make a new CD. Then I tell you what happens.
