unable to bring up wi-fi interface

    Hi all,
    i'm a linux beginner so be patient.
    im start using slitaz live ( aircrack distro ) via usb and im not able to see my wlan0 nterface.

    if i issue the command ifconfig -a i can see only :
    dummy 0
    eth0
    lo

    if i issue the comand lspci -nn on a hp proliant 6500 i can see my network card " bcm4311 [14e4:4311] "
    i've issued the same command on another laptop ( acer insipre one d150 ) with same resoult. only chipset changes
    if i issue the comand lspci -nn on acer aspire i can see my network card " bcm4311 [14e4:4315] "
    i've tryed to load the b43 driver from wireless manager but nothing happen
    i've issued the command staraaoath0 but it return "no such device and interface do not support scanning".

    can someone tell me whats wrong with my pc's or more probably with me? :-)

    Did you install the b43 firmware before you load the b43 module ?

    hi,
    i don't know what you mean exactly, anyway, i've opened the wi-fi manager and i've choosed the b43 driver an clik "load". than i've issued the staraaoath0 command but nothing happened.
    maybe i have to follow a different procedure.........
    could you explain me?

    unfortuantly i'm not able to make the wi.fi working.
    i've tryed with bcm43xxfwcutter but i was unable to install it and load the driver.
    also it seems impossible to set the network setting via network manager.
    i've tryed to do it via ifconfig command and it works but dns not,
    i've edited the resolv.conf but it doesn't work and so i cant user the tazpkg to install and download bcm43fwuncutter.

    any suggestion?

    edit ok, now the eth 0 network conection is ok but i'm still not able to load the correct driver for my wi-fi.
    can someone help me please?

    I have never used aircrack distro.
    Aircrack distro is a hacked version of slitaz.
    If these directions don't work with aircrack distro I suggest you use them with slitaz-3.0-xvesa.iso
    Your wireless chipset the BCM4306 is supported with the b43 module.
    The module will not work unless you install the firmware before you load the module. Since you indicate the computer with the wireless card can connect to internet with ethernet these instructions might work.
    Open tazpkgbox from xterm:
    subox tazpkgbox

    Install linux-wireless.tazpkg b43-fwcutter.tazpkg
    Open wireless connections from xterm:
    root@slitaz: subox wifibox

    Drivers tab
    Firmware: b43 click Install button should download,cut and install firmware
    List files button should show /lib/firmware/b43 folder containing firmware
    Drivers tab,Module: b43 ,click Load button
    Lsmod button should show loaded b43 module
    Networks tab,Refresh button,you see access point,dbl click to connect if open or enter key
    Configuration tab add key,essid,click connect,favorites tab
    Add ssb and b43 to /etc/rcS.conf LOAD_MODULES=
    The other main configuration file is /etc/network.conf to enable wifi at boot=yes , default interface=wlan0 and many other settings
