startx doesn't work

After trying several times to run the live cd (v3.0), my machines get held up when I type startx, whether it's as root or tux. My newest machine is a toshiba with 1.5 gb ram, intel 3.4 processor. The screen says "fatal error - no screen detected". All I've read about slitaz is good so i want to try it. Puppy Linux works fine on all my machines. thanks

first try the xvesa.iso http://mirror.slitaz.org/iso/3.0/flavors/slitaz-3.0-xvesa.iso
second can you give more information to grafikchip and screenresolution - if its a trident chip, you have to install the trident driver, it will not work with xvesa
