So far i have tried compiling and installing the old "pcmcia-cs" so that i could grab the Module that makes my ethernet work (xirc2ps_cs). rebooted then Tried to load the module when i seen it wasnt running
removed that software because it never worked...
so I converted an old ubuntu7 "pcmcia-cs.deb" (exactly the same software, but pre~compiled) and installed it. Tried to load the module again but without luck.
i know that software is for the old 2.4.xx kernel
so, i booted up a kubutu 9.10 live cd i have only to find that it had loaded "pcmcia-CIS" (the modern equilvilent of the prebiously tried software) AND the "xirc2ps_cs" module to make my lan work.
I rebooted again, installed "pcmcia-cis-3.2.8" and tried to insert the old "xirc2ps_cs" module again without luck
Tried to wrap the windows driver with NDIS (yeah i know thats for wlan :P ) but that was just wasted time.
Should install with pcmciautils.tazpkg and loading xirc2ps_cs Add xirc2ps_cs to /etc/rcS.conf LOAD_MODULES= Reboot Manually eject and insert card as root. Post what dmesg has to say if card is not installing Sometimes there are bios options that will allow card install. More info: http://kernel.org/pub/linux/utils/kernel/pcmcia/pcmcia.html
Thank you Mojo, i would never have spotted my spelling mistake if you didnt suggest going into rcS.conf Everything is working perfectly, except my english. i feel so embarrassed.
