    Hello Ernia,

    did you pass the option "lang=it_IT" to grub?

    Regards,
    LuX.

    i'm back to syslinux and vfat now, my car stereo does not read ntfs :-)
    yes, i pass lang=it_IT to syslinux at boot:
    root@slitaz:~# cat /proc/cmdline
    initrd=/boot/rootfs.gz rw root=/dev/null lang=it_IT kmap=it sound=no autologin BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/bzImage

    What really annoys me is that, after installing bash, i keep having lots of
    -sh: warning: setlocale: LC_ALL: cannot change locale (it_IT)
    -sh: warning: setlocale: LC_ALL: cannot change locale (it_IT)

    everytime i launch an xterm or i su to root.
    I've installed glibc-locale but this did not help.
    In this very right moment i remembered of Linux From Scratch and typed these commands:
    root@slitaz:/home/tux# localedef -i it_IT -f ISO-8859-1 it_IT
    root@slitaz:/home/tux# localedef -i it_IT -f UTF-8 it_IT.UTF-8

    The problem seems gone, did you remember something similar?
