Rhythmbox in Slitaz?
  • NikNik February 2010
    Hey
    My question is:
Should I try to install rhythmbox? And if I should, then how?
I did already download the .deb and successfully converted it with "tazpkg convert".
But when I try to install it with "tazpkg install rhythmbox~~.tazpkg" nothing happens.
Is it possible that it wont work because of the objection that dave made here: http://forum.slitaz.org/index.php/discussion/42/convert-deb-rpm-how-to
    thank you

Maybe mpd + a frontend would be a lightweight (and easiest) solution?
Ario is a frontend very similar to rhythmbox

    thank you for that hint
but how do I install the missing packages?
when I try starting mpd it says that libid3tag.so.0 is missing
and when I try ario it claims that libtag_c.so.0 is missing

you miss libid3tag , i think. you should install all of the dependencies of mpd and ario from the slitaz repository or converting the debian packages if you can't find them in the repository.
    you can check dependencies here:
    http://packages.debian.org/lenny/mpd
    http://packages.debian.org/lenny/ario
you could try archlinux packages too.
i don't know how to compile them form sources now, i'm a slitaz newbye.

    hi ,
    do tazpkg get-install libid3tag and tazpkg get-install libid3tag-dev
doing a tazpkg search libid3 will show you all packages available that start or include libid3

    okay
I believe that I got mpd+ario to work. I did miss a few other packages, too.
    For example libunique
    Thank you for your help
