[SOLVED] How do I install screen in cooking?
  • KronenbierKronenbier January 2010
    Hi,

    root@slitaz:/home/pluto# tazpkg search screen

    Search result for : screen

    Installed packages
    ================================================================================
    0 installed packages found for : screen

    Available packages name-version
    ================================================================================
    linux-input-touchscreen-2.6.30.6
    screen-4.0.3
    screen-pam-4.0.3
    screen-terminfo-4.0.3
    ================================================================================
    4 available package(s) found for : screen

    root@slitaz:/home/pluto# tazpkg get-install screen-4.0.3

    Unable to find : screen-4.0.3 in the mirrored packages list.

    Unable to find : get-screen-4.0.3 in the mirrored packages list.

    ???
    So I decided to download the .tazpkg from the web, and tried to install:

    root@slitaz:/home/pluto# tazpkg install screen-4.0.3.tazkpg

    Installation of : screen-4.0.3.tazkpg
    ================================================================================
    Copying screen-4.0.3.tazkpg... [ OK ]
    Extracting screen-4.0.3.tazkpg... /usr/bin/tazpkg: line 42: can't open screen-4.0.3.tazkpg.tazpkg: no such file
    Extracting the pseudo fs... zcat: fs.cpio.gz: No such file or directory
    rm: cannot remove 'fs.cpio.gz': No such file or directory
    /usr/bin/tazpkg: .: line 42: can't open /tmp/tazpkg-1170-1895/receipt
    root@slitaz:/home/pluto#

    Any help? Thanks

    You should just use the application name with TazPkg, i.e.

    tazpkg get-install screen

    Also, you misspelt the .tazpkg bit of the file-name!

    The Linux command line programs, Bash etc., feature tab-completiton to alleviate this. Try typing:

    tazpkg install scre

    and press [TAB] to complete the file-name. Note that it does not cycle through possibilities so it will only auto-complete if there is one possibility.

    Actually the file name was indeed kpg. I probably mistyped when I sent it through SSH.
    But tazpkg get-install screen works. Thank you.

    Ah, okay :)

    If that's solved, would you mind just adding [Solved] to the first post's title please? Just helps to keep the forum less cluttered. :)
