Looking for list of packages
  • alexanderalexander January 2011
    Hi all,

    I'm looking for a list of packages, which was in SliTaz GNU/Linux 1.0.
    Maybe someone of SliTaz's packagers can give me some link or something like this?

    Cheers,
    Alex

    Hi,

    You can get a list of installed packages running:

    $ ls /var/lib/tazpkg/installed > packages.txt

    You can run this command on every SliTaz release.

    Thanks claudinei !

    Now I have another question: SliTaz GNU/Linux has 2 iso: slitaz.iso and packages.iso, which of these I need for installation?

    As I remember, I installed SliTaz 1.0 (it was in 2008), and image was less than 50 Mb maybe... did not need to install something more. I just copied some files like "gcc" and "mc" from internet and it's all.

    It means that all packages was on this iso (slitaz_1.0.iso)

    Now I want to get same list of packages, which I got in 2008 (<50 Mb), but I can't find it :(
    As I can see, now we have (http://mirror.slitaz.org/iso/3.0/)
     * slitaz.iso - 30 Mb
     * packages.iso - 1,5 Gb

    Well, packages.iso has all the packages in the SliTaz 3 repository. It's more an offline copy if you don't have internet access to download them.

    slitaz.iso is the livecd and installer for SliTaz with a few base packages included.
