    Spead the spider :)
For those not on Facebook (like me) but on microblogging sites like StatusNet (identi.ca etc.) we have a group: http://identi.ca/group/slitaz
You can of course join this group from any StatusNet site, not just identi.ca.

    Ho cool!

I will link it from SliTaz sites. Does identica provide widgets or button so we can put one on the website main page ?

Not that I'm know of, but it's possible to grab updates like you do with twitter. It's also open source, so we could probably run our own mircoblogging site that's like identi.ca Basically it's just like twitter with groups added in.

    Yep,

The goal with http://scn.slitaz.org/ is to have our own social community site. We can have microblogging trhoug a Drupal module, I tested it and is quite good. We can even link it to Twitter, get feed, etc.

By the way, you seems quite active in the community, would like to get involve into SCN, you can have contributor permissions and help to maintain and improve the platform ?

    Regards,
    - Christophe

I might give it a shot. I used to maintain a StatusNet site and now I'm doing a Buddypress site, so I'm currently using Social Networking Software a bit too much. Would be nice to see how Drupal maintains it. So far I noticed each system has it's own limitations or small annoyances.

There's a JavaScript widgety thing for users, yes: http://identi.ca/doc/badge

I would imagine we could have one that disaplys the group feed instead of a user by modifying the JavaScript on line #221 to get the url:
    http://identi.ca/api/statusnet/groups/timeline.json?id=slitaz
    instead of the user's timeline.

I killed myself on Facebook a couple of weeks ago because of the lack of privacy regulations in the US and because $uckerberg posted my Linkdin data on my wall without asking!!!

With the risk of sounding paranoid: The NSA and the "Patriot Act" only make privacy issues worse for States-side saved personal data.

That is why I am not sure whether identi.ca is any better. After all, it is also a US company that needs to make money!

Coincidentally, there is some great info about Facebook (Faecesbook?) abuse on tonights show (March 7, 2011) of http://www.coasttocoastam.com

In Europe, you can listen live in the morning here:

O...K... If privacy is a issue for you then you wouldn't like the British laws either, which allows any governmental official or governmentally empowered body (like the police) to monitor your communication (telephonic, data or otherwise) for whatever legal reason they deem fit.
Seems every country in the world is trying to control or own the internet these days.

@Trixar_za: Yep, for the coming "new world order" there are two issues at hand:

    1. There is too much hints and correct information available on the internet these days. This is why Hi11ary C1inton the day before yesterday in an official hearing declared war to the alternative media.
    2. Information about us mortal consumers and facebook users = power.

Howdy, Stranger!

It looks like you're new here. If you want to get involved, click one of these buttons!
