Installation MySQL

    I cannot run mysql in cooking.

    When i start mysql then i get the following message: ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket 'var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2)

    When i install mysql by tazpkg, then everything goes well, exept i get a message 'chown: unknown user/group mysql:mysql'.

    What do I have to do to get MySQL working?

    Hi,

    Fix permissions on /var/run/mysql and restart the daemon

    # chown -R mysql.nogroup /var/run/mysqld
    # /etc/init.d/mysql restart

    Thanks, it works. Is it a bug that the permissions are not set correct on installation?
