    could dosfstools provide a dumbproof mkfs.vfat link to mkdosfs ?
    being used to type mkfs.vfat it took me a little to understand that it's only mkdosfs :-X

    Just to clarify slightly -- you would like the mkfs.vfat in the SliTaz-provided dosfstools package to become a symlink to mkfsdos?

    Which exist already? Will the existing mkfs.vfat have to be replaced?

    root@slitaz:/home/tux# find / -name mkfs.vfat
    root@slitaz:/home/tux# tazpkg list-files dosfstools

    Installed files with : dosfstools
    ================================================================================
    /sbin/dosfsck
    /sbin/mkdosfs
    ================================================================================
    2 files installed with dosfstools.

    root@slitaz:/home/tux#

    Maybe slitaz provides mkfs.vfat in another package that i did not find?
    In my Archlinux desktop mkfs.vfat is a link to mkdosfs.

    To see if a package has a file,or all files contained in known package.
    Search here: http://pkgs.slitaz.org/
    There is no file mkfs.vfat in any tazpkg stable or cooking.
    Most linux remove vfat because of microsoft patent trolls.
    Ubuntu:
    /sbin/mkfs.vfat---->mkdosfs

    fat 12 or 16
    mkdosfs  /dev/xxxx

    fat 16
    mkdosfs -F 16 /dev/xxxx

    fat 32
    mkdosfs -F 32 /dev/xxxx
