Problems with Xvesa
  • PianistaPianista March 2010
    I'm following http://www.slitaz.org/en/doc/scratchbook/x-window-system.html

I do the system and runs without X, I have a intel 945GM on my toshiba nb200, and in the kernel I compile the i910 module. (2.6.33 kernel)

When I put the Xvesa -ac .... command, I have a black screen, I try with a Xvesa newer like the 4.8.0, I try with diferent video modes...

What Can I do? Use Xorg instead Xvesa?

    Thanks!

Yes, the symptom usually indicates the need for xorg.

    Boot into slitaz-2.0.iso setup xvesa.
    Copy the xserver_arguments from /etc/slim.conf
    Add -verbose option to arguments
See all the options and arguments here:
    Xvesa -help

xvesa starts with your compiled kernel mark it [solved]
If not error messages from -verbose may point to solution.
