How to run this program?

    I have downloaded an alsa eq but I don't know how to get it working. I found it on this site: http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=404466 . I thought I needed gcc but maybe I'm wrong. I'm a newbie so I hope someone can help me with this. I want to use the multiband eq with mpd.

    Hello,
    This is already part of the SliTaz standard distribution, known as Alsamixer, and in version 1.20.
    Slitaz Menu > Multimedia > Alsamixer

    I have version 1.0.20 and that is also the version in the packages manager. How can I get the newer version?

    I reported on the old forum (maybe a year ago) that the slitaz alsamixer does not always provide multiband equalizers even when the sound card supports it.
