Good day, I have the new slitaz cookbook 2.0 (upgraded) installed on my harddisk everything works fine except when I try to generate a live usb using tazusb gen-iso2usb I have generated a new image using tazlito gen-distro with the original distro-packages-list without any problem If I burn the iso to a cd everything works fine but if I install the image on a live usb than I have the following kernel panic
sd 0:0:0: [sda] Attached SCSI disk input: SynPS/2 Synaptic Touchapd.... RAMDISK: lzma image found at block 0 vmap allocation for size 134221824 failed: use vmalloc= to increase size VFS: cannot open root device "null" or unknow-block(0,0) Please append a correct "root=" boot option: here are the availalbe partitions: 0300 279782 hda driver: ide-cdrom 0800 117220824 sda driver: sd 0801 109025091 sda1 0802 8193150 sda2 Kernal Panic - not syncing: VFS Unable to mount root fs on unknow-block(0,0) Pid: 1, comm:swapper not tainted 2.6.30.6-slitaz #1
Seems that the kernel is not recognizing the usb device after unzipping the rootfs.gz
Note that this was working in the previous version 2.6.25... I just want to upgrade to the newest kernel and upgrade a new image that I use with my students
I can also boot the image with qemu without any problems: qemu -m 500 -cdrom slitaz-hacked.iso I wonder what could be the problem when the image is transferred to a usbstick I have tried the update provided by pansko but It did not solve it regards! Segi
You can also use unetbootin to put your iso into the usbkey. Download it here: http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/ make it executable with chmod 777 and follow the instructions. I have already tested it wih Slitaz and other distros
