noob: How to patch lxpanel
  • geekdaddygeekdaddy December 2010
I've recently installed SliTaz 3.0 on my old ThinkPad X24 -- works great!
Everything is configured to work well except for the LX-Panel applet, which shows my battery is always 100% full. I found a reported errata and a patch here:
    http://labs.slitaz.org/issues/330

However, I do not know how to apply the patch. Can someone post instructions or a link to useful reference info?

They added this bug fix to lxpanel cooking 7 weeks ago.
You have to cook it yourself for stable.
    Read this: http://doc.slitaz.org/en:cookbook:wok
    After you clone the wok
Go into the lxpanel folder: /home/slitaz/wok/lxpanel
Replace the lxpanel receipt with the updated receipt
Put the battery.patch in stuff folder

    tazwok cook lxpanel

Thanks Mojo. Reviewed the cookbook:wok site and followed your directions. Had to manually install arc to complete the compilation. Anyhow, I created an lxpanel 0.5.6 but my SliTaz config is still running 0.5.5.

Another dumb question, but how do I install the new version I created?
(edit: Just figured it out -- used "tazpkg install" and referenced the new file with the .tazpkg extension. Works fine now).
