Spanish install to Hard Drive
  • Sector11Sector11 November 2010
I'm an English speaker, my mother-in-law is Spanish and was given an OLD (1999) Compaq:

ProSignia Desktop 320 400 RAM Specifications
    Standard Memory 32 MB (removable)
    Maximum Memory 256 MB
Memory Expansion 2 sockets (it had 128MB, I upgraded it to 256MB)
    Memory Comments PC66 SDRAM DIMMs
    CPU Type 400MHz Intel Celeron
    Model Comments 66MHz FSB

I also stripped out the old slow 20GB HD and inatalled a new(er) 40GB that is faster.

No modem - Ehernet card with cable connection.
    No Windows just two partitions: 10GB / - and a 30 GB /home partition.
I's her first computer, she's in her 70's and wants to see pictures of her grand-kids and get email so ANY OS is a learning experience for her.

The "Installer" (from the live CD) installs slitaz in English. I've modified the OpenBox menu to "Spanish" but the programs ere all are English. Now considering the machine - Slitaz is just "smokin' along".

How can I get this installed in Spanish for her?

PS- I have it on a 2GB DataTraveller - NICE!!!!!
    Kudos to the developers.
