[SOLVED] GIMP deoesn't support JP(E)G images!

    Hi --

    Downloaded gimp-2.6.7 and it doesn't open any JPG images! It does support opening/saving GIF/PNG/BMP/XCF etc. so I think the compiler must not have installed the apppropriate -dev package before building it. I don't think it would fail compilation without said -dev packages, but just not support the image file formats in the build.

    Could we get a rebuild with the appropriate JP(E)G -dev packages installed, please?

    @seawolf: I just opened jpg file in gimp without problems. Can you start from command line and report the errors you are getting?

    Make sure libexif is already installed. jpeg requires this package.

    @asimo -- Thanks, it wasn't & really should be a dependancy of the JPEG package IMHO!
