I read that some distros disable all but a few tty.

Wvdialconf sometimes scans only S0-S3 (all of them are group dialout).

Trying to link S3 to a ttyAGS3 fails with S3 already exists.

Removing and re-creating S3 linked to ttyAGS3 results in wvdial only scanning S0-S2 and not S3 anymore (new S3 is not group dialout).

A root terminal in a tux session could not change S3 to group dialout.

A root session changed S3 back to group dialout but wvdialconf still would not work.

How do I get wvdialconf to scan S0-S3 linked to ttyAGS3?
