How does lspci report 2 items at the same address?

I have a modem on a sound card, both share the same address, and lspci reports the address as-
00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) HD Audio Controller (rev 03)

Does that mean lspci recognizes everything there including the modem or should it report the modem as a separate line?

    Thank you.

I do not see the answer in this manual page-

Well, I think lspci is telling you that your modem is actually a soundcard (which I think it really is, for instance, take a look at this picture: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Acoustic_coupler_20041015_175456_1.jpg).

And you also may try "lspci -v" (or -vv or even -vvv). My sources: http://linux.die.net/man/8/lspci or type "man lspci".

    Hope this helps.

Thank you, I did not know about all of those commands, although I still do not see anything for the modem in lspci or aplay (which was broken and asla-utils had to be --force re-installed) or amixer contents but amixer info lists the modem chip (11c11040) and there is a very small modem codec for the sound card that lacks most of what is in the first codec.

Can anyone explain the discrepancies in recognition?

    Thank you.

    lspci -vvv
