I was install xfce4 and not work the Alt+Tab combo, just cycle in the current window's/application's.

Hi, i'am a making a distro based on slitaz with apt of package manager. so far was to use virtualbox, now, for max-speed, for make a "box" chroot

Solution(in ubuntu) just a extract a rootfs.gz with lzma command and then with archive manager extract a result file, last chmod 777 ./root-lzma
./root-lzma is directory where extract a root

using slitaz 3.0, i can only login as root. when i try to autologin as "tux" i get the error:

i think that here http://hg.slitaz.org/wok/rev/a03e47756b33 there is a typo at line 1.16.
should not it be a space between [ and -d ?
bash does not take it as a test but as an unknown command

Hello,

I need to run a program when the system boot. But I want to run it as a particular user (and in background, to not stop the boot).

I know that I have to put it in local.sh. I tried to run : su user -c "cmd". But ps -e doesn't show the process.

any idea ? :)

i was trying to configure power management in my slitaz, because when i close the lid it does not hibernate or sleep. infact, there is no power management. dell lattitude x300.
i read on this forum that i need to install the intel drivers. i did that.
however this did not work. Anyway, i uninstalled the driver and after that i could only log into slitaz terminal
that is "startx" does not work.
it gives something like this after loading.

I need a way to recover my slitaz, using only command line.
notes: if there any required packages i could log on to my xp partition and download it. but how do i place it in the slitaz partition and how do i find it from the slitaz command line in order to use tazpkg. thanks

Booting from a USB stick - doesn't work!

After much trial & error, I've got what I think is a basic SliTaz distro installed on a USB stick - trouble is, when attempting to boot from the stick, all I get is the following message: SYSLINK 3.63 Debian - 2008-07-15 CBIOS...
boot:

Typing ANYTHING in here results in the message: Could not find kernal image

What do I do to rectify the problem please?

I'm trying to compile a touch screen driver (egalax), and I'm having trouble, since the xf86 input driver cannot find "xf86Version.h" while compiling...
I've tried also with the package xorg-xf86-input-evtouch from the wok, but it fails with the same error...

So I'm asking a question : where can I find this file (xf86Version.h), since it seems that it should be included in the xorg-server package, but it is not !!

Create classic hello world:

Go to my ~/Downloads/Distro folder and start hello from there:

tux@slitaz:~$ cd Downloads/Distro/
tux@slitaz:~/Downloads/Distro$ hello
Hello, world!
tux@slitaz:~/Downloads/Distro$

It works again, good.

Now, close the xterm, open PCManFM and go to my ~/Downloads/Distro folder. Then press F4 to invoking xterm in this folder. Then try to run hello again:

tux@slitaz:~/Downloads/Distro$ hello
-sh: hello: not found
tux@slitaz:~/Downloads/Distro$

It`s don't work now, it`s broke. What`s wrong?

i am new at SliTaz and it is great. I use it on an SD-Card (IBM T43).

lspci (WLAN):
04:02.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 2200BG [Calexico2] Network Connection (rev 05)

But there is a problem

modprobe: can't load module lib80211 (/lib/modules/2.6.34-slitaz/kernel/net/wireless/lib80211.ko.gz)

On my Debian the file contains to the normal linux-image-package. On this system there is no folder "wireless". Perhaps somebody can help me.

i have an old laptop which i installed SliTaz on and am trying to get it connected. i have a wireless usb, under tazhw usb detect it gets this

the ethernet port is not working so no chance of connecting for installs online, but i do have a pc right next to it which i can transfer over files.

I have a problem with the Live-CD I created based on latest cooking-core packages. The CD works perfectly on older hardware (Pentium II & III), but when I try to boot on an Acer Aspire 9410 notebook (Intel dual core CPU, 1GB RAM), it crashes while/after extracting initramfs/rootfs.

would it be possible to have it enabled for 4.0 ? the issue was find when i wrote the bluetooth guide and is still present.

i'm switching to cooking to try to build pcmanfm2 with gvfs support, i need it to let my wife to browse some ssh share in my little server without using midnight commander (she would hit me and come back to windows if i ask her to use mc :-) ).
after tazpkg recharge && tazpkg upgrade i found myself without X at reboot.
checking Xorg.0.log and fiddling with xorg configuration files it turns out that:
1) xorg-server 1.8 does not like my belkin usb kvm and refuses to read dcc info through it. xorg-server 1.5.2 did it.
2) by putting

        HorizSync 30.00 - 70.00
        VertRefresh 50.00 - 76.00

in /etc/X11/xorg.conf i did not get any result. putting the same rows in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/50-Monitor.conf i got my 1280x1024 back. if i did not get it wrong this is not as it should be, /etc/X11/xorg.conf should override /xorg.conf.d/50-Monitor.conf.
3) /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-Files.conf contains

, which does not make sense. the fault is not due to tazx, the same content is in the file generated from X -configure
i think that someone more skilled than me should investigate about these issues, somewhere in xorg-server there must be an undefined variable or some ' instead of " or something similar.

Bug in stable iso md5sum file

The md5sum of whole slitaz-3.0.iso is correct
1f3c28d6818bf754c47f7b5fae7a74cf slitaz-3.0.iso, but when we burn the iso, or mount in loop the image
mount -t iso9660 -o loop slitaz-3.0.iso /media/crom/
and check he image with
md5sum -c md5sum
boot/isolinux/isolinux.bin has different checksum error.
It may be confusing especially for beginners or security oriented users. The same is on other 3.0 isos. My big reqest to all maintainers, that have access to .iso files. Please correct this issue.

I'm trying to install the printing system on my slitaz boxes. I know that I could do this by clicking the button under hardware detection and drivers panel. Unfortunately, the size of the package is too big and my internet connection is not very stable. I want to download the necessary packages into the CD and install them locally.

Now, I could successfully download the packages but I don't know how to install them - could anyone please show me how to do it?

In other linux distros I use the 'at' command, but it isn't installed in Slitaz or in the package manager - although, strangely, the manual for 'at' is installed.

it seems that some groups get gid higher than 1000, so my only user fabio get id 1008 instead of the more reasonable 1000, which usually is the default for the first unprivileged user in a linux system.
would it be possible to correct this?
